To celebrate NTEN’s Digital Inclusion Fellowship, supported by Google Fiber, we created a toolkit for those who want to close the digital divide.

In 2015, NTEN: The Nonprofit Technology Network and Google Fiber launched the Digital Inclusion Fellowship, which paired community leaders with nonprofits, where they led digital literacy programs.

The purpose of this toolkit was to codify the work that organizations and fellows completed in the pilot year of the fellowship, while creating actionable resources for anyone interested in digital inclusion. I managed the creation of this toolkit from start-to-finish. Specifically, I:

  • Established editorial direction of toolkit, including the kind of organizations that should be profiled, how interviews and case studies should be structured, and the format and selection of the tools and resources shared.
  • Edited content and managed workflow, reviewing the work of two staff members, checking in regularly on progress, roadblocks, and changes needed during production.
  • Provided design direction, soliciting insight from the team and working closely with our graphic designer.
